👋 About us

Behind elpizzero is someone who has worked behind the counter

We're not a multinational or an investment fund. I'm a restaurateur: I grew up in my parents' pizzeria, went on to run two pizzerias of my own and I know how hard it is to make ends meet.

I'm Ángel, and I built it so your business runs the way I wish mine had run.

My story, step by step

  1. A curious kid in front of a computer

As a kid I loved making websites, back when hardly anyone used the internet. I set up a gaming forum: I'd take the mini-games from a very well-known website, post them on my forum and add explanations and tips. Hardly anyone visited, but that's how I learned how a website works on the inside.

  2. Learning by doing, for over 20 years

Then came thousands of experiments: simple pages, templates, forms… I never studied computer science. I learned everything by poking around, trying things out and getting them wrong, day after day.

  3. Ten years at my parents' pizzeria

I grew up at La Fontana, the pizzeria my parents run in Cox, and worked there for ten years. That's where I learned what you can't see from the outside: the Saturday-night rush, orders that go missing, staff shifts and the fees for outside services that eat into your margin.

  4. My own pizzerias

Then I opened my own pizzeria, La Fontana, and a little later another one in a nearby town: a small franchise I dreamed of growing. While running them, I kept looking for ways to bring technology into the daily routine: I built a small API that picked up the online orders from the software we used and sent each dish to its station in the kitchen.

  5. Closing both

I hired several people all at once, and with them came inspections, paperwork and expenses. Months with few customers followed. At the end of every month I saw how the effort of the whole team ended up in other people's pockets: fees, commissions and intermediaries. Running several businesses was no longer worth the fight, and I closed both pizzerias.

  6. Back home, and elpizzero is born

I went back to helping my parents at La Fontana in Cox. In the meantime I developed Eligemicasa, a real estate project through which I learned to build a product, automate and make real software for businesses. But I realized that my field has always been hospitality. With the arrival of artificial intelligence, I could finally turn everything I had learned into code, and that small API kept growing until it became elpizzero. Today I'm still at the pizzeria and I improve the system every day, testing it in real service.

Why elpizzero was born

Because I lived it in my own pizzerias: little by little, a business loses control and margin. This is what I wanted to change:

Everything in a different program

Your menu, orders, POS, kitchen, delivery, bookings and invoices, all in one connected system.

Fees and commissions that keep going up

Your online orders come in with no per-order commission: what you sell stays with your business.

Tools made by people who've never worked in a restaurant

Every screen has been designed by someone who has worked in hospitality and knows what happens in the middle of a busy service.

It wasn't born from imagining what a restaurant owner might need. It was born from having needed it myself. Fewer repetitive tasks, fewer intermediaries, more control and more time to grow your business.

I closed two pizzerias watching our hard work end up in other people's pockets. I want every restaurant, however small, to have the same tools as the big chains, without depending on anyone and knowing there's someone on the other end who understands them.
